Christmas creep is the commercial phenomenon of merchants and retailers exploiting the commercialized status of Christmas (see Christmas season) earlier and earlier every year. It is most often attributed to the desire of many merchants to take advantage of particularly heavy holiday-related shopping well before Black Friday.
